Let’s Help Nadede Recover!

Nadede is one of the precious fruit of God’s work among the Maasai. This lovely young woman is the daughter of Pastor Peter and Joloisa, who are key leaders in the Wild Hope community. She is currently in school with the goal of becoming a lawyer to help influence the legal status and freedom of opportunity for Maasai women and girls. She is an excellent student at the top of her class, hard working and a passionate lover of Jesus.

On Saturday, March 23, this beautiful young woman was rushed into surgery for a life-threatening brain infection. As a sign of God’s sovereign grace and kindness, Dr. Rabiel, the first female neurosurgeon in Tanzania, just happened to be at our local hospital and was able to care for Nadede.

A second surgery was scheduled two weeks later to remove remaining sinus infection. As part of the treatment protocol, Nadede needs to be on a strong IV antibiotic for four weeks. This medicine is quite expensive, but essential to preventing the infection from returning.

Nadede is gaining strength and mobility and by the grace of Jesus is able to stay in a home near her school and be cared for by local nurses rather than having to stay in the hospital for four weeks of treatment.

Obviously this treatment has been quite expensive. We have watched with tears in our eyes as many of our Tanzanian staff have given generously, but this barely touches the need. We are hoping that many of you reading this story will be moved to help Nadede in her recovery. Your investment in Nadede is an investment in the future of Maasai girls and women.

We are hoping to raise $7000 to cover treatment and medicine. Any amount you can give would be greatly appreciated.

Note: Any amount above what is needed for Nadede’s medical expenses will be added to our Student Sponsorship Fund to help other young men and women becoming leaders in Tanzania.
