Transformation through Education

In our work of discipling emerging leaders, we have found that education can be the key to opening doors for effective service. Often church leaders raised in the bush have had minimal educational opportunities. To help bridge this gap and provide educational experiences for other deserving individuals, we have a special Transformation through Education fund. Monies designated for this fund will be used in the following ways:

  1. To enable young pastors to further their education so they will be better able to understand and teach the Bible, as well as meet Tanzanian government requirements for registered churches.
  2. To help pastors and Wild Hope staff educate their children.
  3. To support young believers in becoming qualified teachers that can work in schools in Maasailand and pass their knowledge to children in the bush.
  4. To provide opportunities for spiritual retreats and discipleship to deepen each student’s commitment to Christ.

We have already supported a number of individuals in this way and have seen firsthand the blessing that education can provide. One such individual is Namelok, the daughter of our Wild Hope missionaries Soloman and Sarah Kipi. Educational funding enabled her to finish high school with sufficiently high grades to be admitted to the University of Nairobi.
Namelok recently wrote of her gratitude:

“I can’t fully express my gratitude through words but I would love to say that am so thankful for your support, financially and even spiritually.

I did my form four examination and I did well scoring an aggregate of 77 points out of 84. I was admitted to The University of Nairobi to pursue a bachelor of education (science), which is a four-year course. I will be joining the university in September this year but for now I will be studying computer. Thank you so much. Your gifts are a blessing to me and to my family.”
